Hello everyone! I am glad to have the chance to start my journey on learning how to design/develop websites. I am very eager to learn about this trade. My reasons for this want to learn are as follow: To integrate my desire to create with the field of electronics, get a start onto a better job, and to have this necessary skill in today’s technology.
I love to create and this shows in my writing and drawing. I graduated from Guilford Community Technical College with an Associate’s in Arts and I want to be able to apply this degree to what I want to do. Apart from my interests in books and art I also harbor a strong love for video games. My very first video game console to play on? The old Nintendo system. Yes, that’s right the Nintendo system when I was five years old. Super Mario was my first game and I absolutely loved games from then on out. Playing on consoles was not the only thing I did, I also went into arcades at malls and various other places. To be able to see where games are at today is astonishing and to see someone’s vision become a reality is even a greater achievement. Someone created this, someone wanted to see their creation brought to life. Now I know web design is FAR from what I am talking about but everything needs one step in the right direction and I believe this is my step forward in knowing web development.
I can’t tell you how many minimum wage jobs I have had, but I can tell you how hard it is to pay all your bills with them. I am so tired of going this route of low wage jobs that barely pay what I need to survive. I want to do so much better with my life! Not to mention so many of these jobs treat their employees so badly because they know they can get another body, yes body, off the streets in these hard times. Now I’m not here to preach on how these kind of jobs take advantage of people, I’m just here to say I’ve had enough of them to know I want something better. I believe in having the skill to develop websites it can lead me to having the opportunity of gaining further knowledge of intricate trade skills that can get me a better job. I want to support myself, my family and be happy in not only getting what I need but what I want as well!
Let’s face it, we all know everything is going electronic. Computers is the future, period. We see it today as books are going digital, people are using their cards more instead of paper money, and people are even doing business on the net. Children today are growing up with computers. I’m twenty eight years old and what was considered new when I was a child is now consider normal by the average child in today’s world. Technology is evolving at a rapid rate and people all around the world is using it in their own unique way. What may have just been thought of only possible in the movies is now an actual reality with more goals possible to achieve than ever before. To create websites, or anything to do with computers in general, is an asset to have in the world today. Again, it all ties in with having a job as more companies look for people who have a wide variety of skills that involve the computer and the internet.
This is why I’m here folks, to learn how to create, use this skill to land a better job to take care of myself and family, and to keep up with this world of growing technology.
